In order to create your first page, drag and drop a Full Page from the left hand palette on to the canvas in the centre. Once your page is shown on the canvas, you can change the default name by double-clicking the page image. You can also use the right-click to access the context menu that contains the most relevant actions for the item on the canvas. Creating a Full Page You can now paint the page by using the Page Structure tab. You can access this tab by clicking the tab at the top or by right-clicking the page and selecting the Page Structure option from the context pop-up menu. Once you are on the Page Structure tab, you will find a palette on the left, which you can use to paint your page. The canvas is on the centre of the screen and represents the page that is being painted. The right hand side of the screen has a set of tabs that are designed to assist with data-driven page design. You can choose to use WSDL files, XML Schemas, Database Schemas, External Application data, Templates and Existing pages to choose data that you wish to include on your page. The Templates tab provides a set of common page templates that can be used as the basis for the page. The Existing Page tab lists all pages within the application map that can be cloned to paint the new page. Whichever option you choose on the right you will typically see an XML document structure containing design information. You can simply drag-and-drop parts of the structure to paint your page. This is the fastest approach for painting pages. Painting Page Structure As well as painting the screen, the drag-and-drop information will enable scripts and data bindings for this page. We will discuss validation and bindings later in this document. At this stage we can preview the page. To do this you need to use the set of round buttons on top of the screen. The buttons are available on all tabs within FormMaker, enabling you to preview pages at any time. Use the Generate button to generate the page. Once this has completed you need to click the Preview button to preview the page. Previewing Pages Please Note: There are two tabs on the canvas within the Page Structure tab. The Tree View tab provides a tree structure representation of the page layout, which can be useful during restructuring of pages containing large amounts of information.
