The manipulation of this list screen works in the same way as all the other list type screens within the studio.
The main action, to configure an existing pattern,is accomplished by clicking the name of the pattern in the list. See the next section, Changing Pattern Structure, for details on this.
The functions along the top of the list work as follows:
To add a new pattern, you need to enter the required name in the
New Filenametext box, and click the
newbutton. This will show the New Pattern screen to allow the contents of the pattern to be entered. In the normal situation of creating a completely new pattern you can just accept the default contents by clicking the
Savebutton. (If you want to upload an existing pattern file structure or edit the metadata manually this can be done before hitting Save, however in most cases we would recommend just using the default structure.) To create an exact copy of an existing pattern, you first need to select the existing pattern to copy by clicking on the corresponding radio button. You then need to enter the name to give the new pattern in the
New Filenametext box, and click the
copybutton. Patterns can be renamed on this screen, by selecting the existing pattern to rename and entering the required new name in the text box before clicking the
renamebutton. The final function is the ability to delete a pattern. This is a permanent removal which cannot be undone, so this should be used with caution.
