These tutorials have shown you how to create and deploy a web service in minutes. The examples primary purpose is to illustrate the steps to create a web service solution based on a service-oriented architecture:
Creating, deploying, and testing a real web service
Extending the service to include business rules
Making a call to an external third party service
Many of the steps demonstrated within this example are standard approaches to constructing e-Business solutions with the PxP platform. Most applications would require similar steps, but with the use of different patterns, assets and business rules.
It is also recommended that patterns are used to set-up Business Network and Business patterns. This assists in visualising the overall solution as the complexity increases. It is easier to see which Services are provided by which business. These patterns are 'abstract' representations that are there to aid with the visual understanding of the complete solution.
